1. Understand the roles of the Etruscans, patricians, and plebeians in forming the first Roman government.
2. Explain what the Conflict of Orders was and its outcome.
3. List the events starting from the Roman Republic up to the plebeians gaining equality.
4. Identify the group that made up most of Rome.
Study Tips for Chapter 32
1. Understand why Romans were influenced by Greek and Etruscan cultures. The map of page 310 of the textbook illustrates why.
2. Categorize all the influences on Roman culture learned about in chapter 32 by sorting them under two categories: Greek origin or Etruscan origin.
For example. Greeks: alphabet, poetry; Etruscans: gladiators. Etcetera.
3. Identify/explain the (subtle) differences between Greek/Etruscan ideas and the changes the Romans made when adapting them. For example, the Romans blended both Greek and Etruscan building styles.
